Meet Our Staff & Leadership
We're so thankful for the men that faithfully serve our local church family every day of the week. Their leadership, love, and compassion for people shows in everything they do. They're regular broken people like the rest of us, but they have a heart for God and a passion for the gospel.

We are a church that is on fire for God

Our History
North Whitfield Missionary Baptist Church was organized in 1965 in a building that had previously been used as a truck stop off U.S. highway 41 before Iterstate 75 was put through the area. There had been a kitchen fire in the truck stop and then it relocated and the old building was rented and later purchaced by a group of Christians in the small community. The little church struggeled from 1965-1982 having a handful of different pastors. In 1982 Pastor Lillard V. Stringer was called to lead the little church.
Lillard V. Stringer and his wife Margie had been members of Mt. Vernon Baptist under Pastor Loyd Guffey. Brother Stringer had pastored a 3 previous churches and was then preaching as an evangelist and singing all over the area with the souther gospel hairs gospel group. Brother Stringer had such a heart for people and for preaching that the Lord used him to reach many people in the area. from 1982-1986 the Little 800 sf. church had seen over 300 new members. They built the current sacntuary and refaced the old building for sunday school usage. Pastor Stringer faithfully labored in the community for 36 years until the Lord called him home in late December of 2019 at the age of 84 his loving wife Margie went to meet him just 16 days later.
With all the respect we have for Pastor Stringer, We know that it was all by the Grace of God. To God be the glory! As with the ministry of brother Stringer our God is able to do and continue to do great things in the lives of those who trust in Him. We are excited to see what all the Lord has in store for this place of worship as we strive to lift high the Name of Jesus Christ our Lord!
